Winter Scene - Cross Stitch

Hi!

For the past month and a half I've been working behind the scenes with a big project (I have been updating on instagram though), a cross stitching project. I really love cross stitching, and I always try to get some time in for it, maybe not everyday but at least a couple of days in the week. I started this project 1st of October, I was hopeing to get it finished before the last of october but it took me about 2 weeks longer. (Which with my track record isn't that much, my father got to wait for his mallard ducks for 5 years!!). The pattern is called Winter Scene and is designed by Sue Cook. I found it in The World of Cross Stitching, Issue 78 from 2003. I have done some changes, the original had some angels holding a banner and a face on the moon, but I just wanted the serene scene.

Christmas Mice

Today I'm coming to you with a super cute cross stitched card trio. One of my absolute favourite cute cross stitch designer (she do make stamps too), is Margaret Sherry, so I was over the moon when I found that this months free kit in my World of Cross Stitching magazine was her design. And of course I just couldn't wait to get stitching on them. I took me about 2 days for all three designs, so they are a pretty quick stitch. I really love the the cards that came with the kit so I decided that all it needed was a good sentiment. Thought I would share how I put them all together, got a little bit chatty, but maybe you can pick up a tip or to.

Fluttering hearts

After finishing the kitten yesterday I just had to do the free card kit that came with this months The World of Cross Stitch. This month it's actually two cards, two beautiful butterflies designed by Madeleine Floyd. They came with two card bases but I felt they where a little plain. So I stamped them with Tim Holtz Papillon Stamp with Stormy Sky Distress Ink, I really like how they turned out.

A Little Bird Told Me

When I saw this cutie I knew I just needed to stitch him, it took me a whole month before I actually sat down and started him. He was a free kit with The World of Cross Stitching magazine, issue 214. I really love the card base that came with it, so I only stitched him up and mounted him in it.

7 - 23: Christmas cards and tags

This is my 100th post, so I thought I make it a large one. So I have been crafting alot this weekend, this is all of the projects I have finished (have started some too but those I write about later).

7 - 9: Tags

My sister has made some beautiful christmas tags, you can find them here. I wanted to try out the technique, so when I was at her place I got to play with her distress inks and stampin' up inks. These three was the result, made me want to buy me some more distress inks.



10 - 14: 3D Decoupage with flowersoft

I'm a craft magazine addict, a buy them as soon as I see one. In the november issue of Papercraft Inspirations the free gift was a 3D decoupage kit with flowersoft, I never played with flowersoft, but have wanted to try it for some time now. So I made all the cards, added some glitter glue and some flowers. They were really fun to make and I have some flowersoft left for some other christmas cards.





15 - 23: Cross stitched christmas cards

I started stitching these several years ago, but they have been laying in a drawer gathering dust, but with this new challange of mine I thought I finish them. Going to try to send christmas cards to all my friends and family this year, so these are going into the send pile, now I only going to find envelopes for them. The cross stitch designs are from Enjoy Cross Stitch at Christmas Issue 4 from 2010 and The World of Cross Stitch Issue 78 from 2003.
