Christmas Night

Hi!

All you card makers out there knows that Christmas is coming in a lightning speed, so it's time to start with those Christmas cards so that you might get some sent out this year. So here is my first Christmas card of the season. Today I'm Guest Designing for Gerda Steiner Designs, I've been meaning to get some stamps from her for awhile as I've looked at Tara's videos with them and the stamps are adorable! So when Gerda contacted me and asked if I wanted to play with her stamps I was over the moon. Btw how do you like my moon on the card? I personally just love how it came out.

For todays card I've played with Up On The Housetop, I wanted to make a very wintery card, and started with the background. For the background I used distress inks and and a mask and blended a background with blending tools. It turned out very soft so instead of going to my copics I decided to use my Polychromos to colour the images in. For more details on how you can see the video below.

Polychromos:
Skin: Ivory, Light Flesh, Cinnamon, Walnut, Dark Flesh
Hat & Gloves: Deep Red, Permanent Carmine, Dark Red, Walnut
Beard, trimmings and snow: White, Warm Grey I, II, III
Chimney: Walnut, Venetian Red, Terracotta, Burnt Ochre, Sanguine, Nougat

You're out of this world!

Hi Guys!

This is a card that has been in my mind for weeks and I finally got to make it. I tried recording a video on it last week, but ended up not liking the end result. So I let it grew in my mind for a couple of days and retried it this weekend. I really like how it turned out! Had a lot of fun playing with the background, I wasn't sure it would work but I just had to try, and this is something I recommend you al to do to. Not sure if it works? Try it, it's only paper and paint (or ink in this case). My best work has come from trying new things, and seeing if I can make the material work in my favour.

This card is using the same stamp set that I used over at My Favorite Things Stamp Blog last week, didn't know I was guesting? Hope on over to their blog and/or youtube and watch my video, I tried a very fun three layered stenciling technique.

Polychromos:
Black, White, Burnt Sienna, Sanguine, Terracotta, Payne's Grey, Cold Grey II, IV, V, Silver, Middle Phthalo Blue, Cobalt Blue-Greenish, Helioblue-Reddish, Cadmium Red, Pale Geranium Lake

Gifting a day at the zoo?

Hi Guys!

Todays card it one of those where the inspiration came from watching youtube, artist youtube. I love watching people create, it's one of those things that makes me inspired, so I love youtube. I watch a lot of crafters but I also watch a lot of artists. I've been following this swedish artist called Bokkei for years, she makes wonderful portraits and she was one of the reasons I got my markers and later my coloured pencils. Her latest creation is a portrait in pencils on grey cardstock and I knew I just needed to try. And this is the very clean and simple card that came out of that playing session.
